Morocco, Vallee du Dades

The second day of our stay in Ouarzazate we had another day trip to the inland region of Boumalne and the Vallee of Dades also known as the Rose Valley.

This time the road was narrow and we had to go up for a while before getting the beautiful views of the villages in the valley.

And we met Ria, this child of the south. She took us to her family, only women since the men leave during days to find food and try to sell their goat's milk or branches in nearby villages.

They let us visit their home, those large holes in the mountain, similar to caves, where they cooked, raised their goats and waited for their husbands, fathers or brothers. For us, arriving with our 4x4 and our camera, it was so surreal and so real at the same time.
We finally arrived at the Dades Gorges.

When we returned, Micky and I went to the souk to buy a few souvenirs. We ended up meeting the Moroccan Samuel Jackson...and we didn't buy anything!

That night, since it was our last night in Ouarzazate, we decided to stay in and enjoy our hotel terrace. As it is advised to do, we had ordered the day before a traditional pastilla dish from the chef and had a bottle of Moroccan Guerouane wine.
